About the position

Waypoint Networks is seeking a full-time Audio Visual Lead Technician to support multiple facilities within a 30-mile radius of Annapolis, MD. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the audio visual and video conferencing systems across various locations. The technician will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining all audio visual equipment, ensuring that systems are functioning optimally and addressing any issues that arise. The position requires personal transportation and a clean driving record, as the technician will travel to different sites to perform their duties. The technician will proactively support issues reported through various client support mediums, including email, chat, and phone. Responsibilities include providing maintenance services for conference room technical systems, which encompass projectors, video conferencing (VC) systems, and audio conferencing equipment. This includes tasks such as bulb replacement, troubleshooting, and repairing any physical layer problems that may occur. The technician will manage service tasks from an assigned task queue to address maintenance and repair requests efficiently. In addition to routine maintenance, the technician will support a variety of audio visual equipment, including LCDs, Crestron Control Systems, BiAmp DSPs, and projectors. Participation in the development and maintenance of departmental workflows and standard operating procedures is expected, along with involvement in special projects such as inventory tracking and documentation. The technician will also provide bi-weekly updates to IT management regarding regional maintenance support requests and will assist the IT team in user and inter-departmental communication. This position reports directly to the onsite audio visual provisioning manager and requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the audio visual integration field.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and maintain all audio visual and video conferencing systems and/or equipment.
  • Proactively support issues reported via email, chat, phone, and other client support mediums.
  • Provide maintenance services for all conference room technical systems including projectors, VC and audio conferencing equipment and infrastructure.
  • Perform bulb replacement, troubleshooting, and repairs of any physical layer problems.
  • Service tasks from an assigned task queue to service support requests for maintenance/repair.
  • Provide support for items such as LCDs, Crestron Control Systems, BiAmp DSPs, Projectors, and VC systems.
  • Participate in development and maintenance of departmental workflow and standard operation procedures.
  • Participate in special projects including inventory tracking, deployments, and general documentation.
  • Support IT team as required in user and inter-departmental communication.
  • Provide bi-weekly communication to IT management around regional maintenance support requests.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and break-fix tasks.
  • Provide support to all AV/VC requests unless otherwise directed by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in the audio visual integration field.
  • 3 years of field engineering experience (required).
  • 5 years of audio visual installation experience (required).
