About the position

The Audio Visual Production Specialist position at U.S. Customs and Border Protection involves utilizing expertise in audio-visual production to support the agency's informational programming. The role encompasses responsibilities such as producing, directing, editing, and assisting in various media production tasks, contributing significantly to the agency's mission.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a producer, director, script writer, and production assistant for agency informational programming.
• Direct video productions, including designing sets and lighting, conceiving visuals, and selecting music and sound effects.
• Select and direct cameras and movements during taping and editing video productions.
• Assist in script preparation and create electronic graphics to enhance presentations.
• Maintain a database of video imagery for distribution as B-Roll to media outlets.
• Provide technical assistance and training to staff in using audio/visual equipment.
• Assist in social media production tasks and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position.
• 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in video production and related tasks.
• Experience in consulting with clients on project concepts, objectives, and target audiences.
• Proficiency in directing video productions, including set design, lighting, and camera direction.
• Ability to assist in preparation of graphics and support requirements for production.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with social media production and content creation.
• Familiarity with various audio/visual equipment and editing software.
