About the position

The Audio-Visual Sales Engineer at AVI is responsible for providing technical consultancy and support to the sales team, focusing on audio, video, and control solutions. This role involves designing and configuring integrated audiovisual systems tailored to meet specific customer needs, conducting technical presentations, and collaborating with various stakeholders throughout the sales process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise to support the architecture, installation, and planning of audio, video, and control solutions.
  • Research and analyze the capabilities of available hardware and software options.
  • Engage in direct customer interaction throughout the sales lifecycle, communicating with project managers to corporate executives.
  • Design audiovisual systems that integrate various hardware and software components to meet customer specifications.
  • Assist in the development of formal sales plans and proposals.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in the service and installation of audio, video, and presentation systems.
  • Knowledge of control systems programming and CAD software.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and customer relation skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to read engineering schematics and communicate design intent effectively.
  • Expert level knowledge of videoconferencing products and unified communications technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • CTS and CTS-D certifications are a plus but not required with the right experience.
  • Other industry-related certifications or training (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Shure) are also a plus.
