About the position

The Audio Visual Technician (On Call) position at Eurest involves ensuring that all audio visual requirements requested by clients are met. The technician will interface with various types of audio visual, communication, and presentation technology, maintaining positive customer relationships and ensuring timely responses to inquiries for space or service needs. This part-time role requires flexibility in scheduling, as it operates on an on-call basis, primarily during weekdays.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer and meeting planner requests from the reservation system and provide equipment/assistance at the necessary time and place.
  • Gather information from email and phone communications and distribute it to the assigned contact.
  • Provide problem escalation support and issue resolution.
  • Follow up on service challenges and work with the manager to take corrective action.
  • Provide technical assistance for all meetings and customers requiring tech services for their events.
  • Follow SOPs for audio-visual support as provided by the AV Manager and Director of Technology and Operations.
  • Adhere to preventative maintenance room sweeps on a weekly basis and report sweep information through the database.
  • Change data projectors, lamps, and cabling pieces associated with various integrated systems throughout the portfolio.
  • Review operation of equipment with customers and ensure they are comfortable with its operation.
  • Offer assistance in the operation of equipment and help solve problems if customers are unsure of requirements.
  • Educate staff and customers on the basics of all AV equipment in the facility.
  • Maintain metrics associated with room equipment inventory and repairs/replacements completed in conference rooms.
  • Communicate with co-workers and service partners to ensure updated information is shared.
  • Assist with conference room set-ups, break downs, and any other areas where assistance is needed.
  • Keep the A/V storerooms organized and well managed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of experience supporting audio visual for events.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of office technology/equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
