About the position

The Audio Visual Technician (Videographer) position is an on-call role focused on supporting the livestreaming of public meetings and hearings for Deschutes County. The technician will operate audio and video equipment, assist in connecting residents with county government, and perform post-meeting tasks to ensure recordings are available for public access. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in local government operations and media production.

Responsibilities

  • Operate audio and video equipment for livestreaming public meetings and hearings.
  • Assist the Public Information Officer in managing Zoom sessions during meetings.
  • Perform post-meeting tasks to upload and manage recordings of meetings.
  • Ensure technical quality and reliability of audio and video feeds during events.

Requirements

  • Experience with audio and video equipment operation.
  • Basic knowledge of livestreaming technology and software.
  • Ability to work on an on-call basis and respond to scheduling needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Zoom and other video conferencing tools.
  • Experience in a government or public service environment.

Benefits
