About the position

The In-House Audio Visual Technician for banquets and events at Atrium Hospitality will be responsible for managing audio-visual equipment for various events held in multipurpose rooms, general floor conference rooms, and other meeting spaces. This role requires adaptability to event changes and a thorough understanding of audio prepping, rigging, power system capabilities, and general equipment usage. The technician will ensure that all setups and breakdowns are completed according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), which includes testing cables and audio-visual equipment, performing sound checks, and setting up and breaking down equipment as per the BEO instructions. The technician will operate and troubleshoot various audio-visual equipment, including projectors, laptops, speakers, microphones, and lighting, ensuring that all equipment functions properly in designated areas. Additionally, the technician will maintain inventory in good working order, report any lost, stolen, or damaged equipment to management, and ensure that all equipment is secure from theft or damage. Excellent customer service is paramount, as the technician will maintain communication with the guest contact person to address their needs. The role also involves adhering to all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to fulfill the primary purpose of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage audio-visual equipment for banquets and events in multipurpose rooms and conference spaces.
  • Adapt to event changes and ensure all setups and breakdowns are completed according to Banquet Event Orders.
  • Test cables and audio-visual equipment, and perform sound checks.
  • Set up and break down equipment per Banquet Event Order instructions, including audio-visual equipment and other event provisions.
  • Operate and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment, projectors, laptops, speakers, microphones, and lighting.
  • Ensure proper functioning of cameras, microphones, speakers, and displays in all designated areas.
  • Maintain inventory in good working order and report any lost, stolen, or damaged equipment to management.
  • Ensure equipment is secure from theft or damage.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain communication with the guest contact person for their needs.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months of experience in Audio Video Services for medium to large groups.
  • Knowledge of network connectivity, digital signal flow, and troubleshooting systems and equipment.
  • Food Safety certificate or complete training during the initial 90 days.
  • Alcohol certification or complete training during the initial 90 days.
