Audio Visual Technician

About the position

The Audio Visual Technician role at Top Prospect Consulting involves installing, configuring, and troubleshooting various audiovisual systems for a project in Providence, RI. The position requires a strong understanding of AV technology and the ability to work with low voltage systems, ensuring optimal performance through quality assurance checks and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot AV systems, including projectors, flat panels, audio systems, video distribution systems, IP encoders, control systems, DSP, and structured cabling.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to determine installation requirements.
• Perform system testing and quality assurance checks to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in audiovisual installation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Nice-to-haves

• Industry certifications such as AVIXA/Infocomm CTS, Biamp, Crestron, Extron, Legrand AV, or equivalent.
