About the position

The Audiologist position at Tufts Medical Center focuses on assessing and treating patients with auditory and communication disorders. This senior-level role involves evaluating auditory function, providing therapy services, and overseeing the clinical aspects of the Audiology division. The Audiologist will work closely with a team of professionals to ensure effective patient care and may also supervise and train other staff members.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates auditory function of patients and provides counseling on hearing loss and communication disorders.
• Selects and administers appropriate diagnostic tests to determine the degree and type of hearing loss.
• Independently evaluates and provides direct clinical services to patients with hearing and balance issues.
• Interprets diagnostic results and coordinates them with medical and educational information for treatment planning.
• Communicates test results and proposed treatments clearly to patients and otologists.
• Provides hearing aid evaluations, counseling, and referrals, and prescribes and fits hearing aids.
• Assists in training medical and audiology students and non-medical staff.
• Maintains clinic materials and equipment, ensuring proper calibration and repairs.
• Coordinates audiological services in community health centers and schools.
• May conduct research on hearing and balance disorders.

Requirements

• Doctorate (AuD) degree in Audiology.
• Audiologist License.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA.
• Three (3) years of clinical experience.

Nice-to-haves
