About the position

The Audiologist position at the VA Loma Linda Health Care System involves providing comprehensive audiological services to veterans at the Victorville Community Based Outpatient Clinic. The role includes conducting assessments, fitting hearing aids, and delivering rehabilitative services, while ensuring high-quality patient care and documentation. The incumbent will work collaboratively within a healthcare team to enhance the auditory health of patients, particularly those with complex needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting, planning, and coordinating clinical and administrative services in audiology.
  • Providing a full range of audiological services, including fitting hearing aids and aural rehabilitation.
  • Identifying and evaluating individuals with hearing disorders and administering comprehensive audiologic tests.
  • Instructing patients on their hearing loss and treatment options.
  • Referring patients to other medical services as necessary.
  • Planning and monitoring patient-centered treatment and rehabilitative services.
  • Completing documentation in accordance with facility policy.
  • Staying current with developments in audiology through professional education and communication with peers.
  • Attending staff meetings and in-service training as required.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Doctor of Audiology (AUD) or equivalent doctoral degree in hearing science from an accredited institution.
  • Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice audiology in the U.S.
  • Ability to perform functions associated with contemporary audiology scope of practice.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles and techniques in the assessment and treatment of auditory disorders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience performing tele-audiology and remote hearing aid programming.
