About the position

The Audiologist at VA Ear Nose Throat Associates is responsible for conducting diagnostic testing and providing audiologic services to patients of all ages. This role includes performing various hearing tests, fitting hearing aids, and maintaining detailed reports and paperwork. The audiologist will also engage in electrophysiologic testing and assist with audiologic rehabilitation classes, ensuring comprehensive care for patients with hearing and balance disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic audiologic testing for patients of all ages.
  • Conduct electrophysiologic testing, including otoacoustic emissions (OAEs), auditory brainstem response testing (ABR), and electrocochleography.
  • Perform vestibular testing using Electronystagmography (ENG).
  • Conduct vestibular assessment and treatment using the Dix-Hallpike and Canalith repositioning techniques.
  • Perform hearing aid evaluations, fittings, and follow-ups for patients of all ages.
  • Utilize the Verifit real ear measurement system for hearing aid fittings.
  • Conduct hearing aid checks and repairs.
  • Assist with marketing activities related to audiology services.
  • Maintain hearing aid patient files and paperwork.
  • Assist with audiologic rehabilitation classes.
  • Attend department and company staff meetings.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Audiology (AuD or PhD) is required.
  • Virginia state licensure in Audiology is required.
  • Virginia state license for Hearing Aid Specialists is required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations is necessary.
  • Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or 4th year externship is required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Nice-to-haves

  • Board certification in Audiology (BC/BE) is preferred.
