About the position
The Audiology Tech Extern position at Hendrick Clinic ENT is designed for fourth-year audiology students seeking hands-on experience in a busy ENT practice. The extern will work alongside a team of audiologists and ENT physicians, gaining exposure to a variety of audiological services including hearing testing, hearing aid fitting, and cochlear implant evaluations. This role aims to enhance the extern's clinical skills and knowledge in a supportive environment, contributing to the overall mission of delivering high-quality healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Assist in comprehensive hearing testing for patients of all ages.
- Conduct OAE/ABR testing, including sedated ABR in the OR.
- Support hearing aid fitting and service for patients.
- Participate in BAHA and cochlear implant evaluations and programming.
- Engage in vestibular testing and rehabilitation as services expand.
- Perform regular hearing screenings and evaluations for both pediatric and adult patients.
- Conduct tympanometry and acoustic reflex assessments.
- Assist with auditory processing evaluations and evoked potential assessments.
- Support intra-operative monitoring cases and otoacoustic emissions testing.
- Participate in industrial hearing conservation and vestibular assessments.
- Engage in audiologic rehabilitation, including tinnitus assessments and management.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a fourth-year audiology student.
- Basic knowledge of audiological testing and procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with pediatric audiology evaluations.
- Familiarity with cochlear implant technology and rehabilitation.
