About the position

The Audiovisual Systems Analyst position at Pikes Peak State College is a full-time role focused on maintaining and operating audiovisual systems, including television and radio transmitters, fiber optic systems, and various audiovisual equipment used in classrooms, conference rooms, theaters, and other event spaces. This position requires a high degree of technical expertise and provides essential support to faculty, staff, and students in the operation of audio/video systems, media control systems, and instructional technology. The analyst will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment, ensuring that all audiovisual systems are functioning optimally to support educational activities. In this role, the analyst will perform maintenance and operation of audiovisual equipment, including sound, video, projection, and related technologies such as Crestron Control systems, videoconferencing systems, and Single Master Antenna TV Systems (SMATV). The position also involves supporting event production and maintaining broadcast and satellite equipment for television and radio. The analyst will assist in programming audiovisual systems and will be expected to conduct regular inventory checks, make recommendations for upgrades, and expedite repairs as necessary. The Audiovisual Systems Analyst will also play a key role in training student workers, faculty, and staff on the use of audiovisual equipment, ensuring that all users are equipped to operate the technology effectively. This position requires strong communication skills, as the analyst will confer with various stakeholders to address technology needs and resolve any issues that arise. The role may also involve working outside of regular business hours to support events and respond to equipment problems on-call.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate audio, video, STL, and transmitter equipment for KEPC/PPSC-TV.
  • Operate and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment including computers, data projectors, control systems, and audio/video patch panels.
  • Assist faculty, staff, students, and presenters in using technology in high-tech and smart classrooms, including rapid response to trouble and repair calls.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure equipment is maintained and in good working order.
  • Assist with programming of audiovisual systems, including control and processing systems.
  • Expedite major/minor repairs of all audio-visual equipment, including ordering replacement parts and managing warranty repairs.
  • Train student workers, faculty, and staff on setting up, operating, and troubleshooting audiovisual equipment in classroom environments.
  • Advise administrators, faculty, staff, and students on classroom technology needs and resolve customer complaints.
  • Assist with Genetec surveillance and access control systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution OR completed Associate's degree with two years of professional level experience OR four years of professional level experience performing similar duties.
  • Five or more years of professional level experience performing similar duties is preferred.
  • Experience working in Higher Education is preferred.
  • Experience with TV and Radio Studio equipment is preferred.
