About the position

The Audio Visual Lead Technician at Tritech Communications is responsible for the installation, startup, and closeout of audio-visual systems and equipment. This role involves providing service and repair support to customers, ensuring high-quality installation and operation of AV and IT infrastructure, and maintaining a professional relationship with clients. The technician will work on various projects across different sectors, including corporate, education, healthcare, and government.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, startup, and closeout of all jobs.
  • Provide service and repair support to customers.
  • Install basic AV and IT related infrastructure including cabling and connectors.
  • Operate and service most AV equipment and systems.
  • Read and comprehend AV systems drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
  • Configure AV equipment such as media control systems and codecs.
  • Operate machinery and use power tools for installations.
  • Lift heavy loads up to 50 lbs and work on ladders and scaffolding.
  • Interact with clients in a professional, customer service-oriented manner.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and handle stressful situations.

Requirements

  • 2 years or more of previous employment in a technical position with an AV integration firm.
  • Competent in running project sites and installations, leading a crew of technicians.
  • Technical certification from a major AV equipment manufacturer (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX).
  • Associates level college degree in a technology-related field or equivalent AV work experience.
  • Preferred certifications: CTS, CTS-I, NICET, EST or similar.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills at the component level.
  • Proven track record in providing superior customer service skills.
  • A clean driving record and a valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced AV systems and configurations.
  • Familiarity with various computer video display formats.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
