About the position

The Audit Data Analyst - Senior Audit Manager at USAA plays a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of audits through systematic data analysis and automation. This position collaborates with Audit leaders to provide data-driven insights and innovative solutions, ensuring quality assurance across various operational pillars. The role requires a strong analytical background and the ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Audit Data Analytics leadership and Internal Audit management for project planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Drive the effective use of data analytics techniques to support audits across Technology, Operations, and Regulatory pillars.
  • Provide data-driven and technology-enabled assurance to audit teams.
  • Lead audits and innovative Data-Driven Continuous Auditing approaches and methodologies.
  • Build effective analytics and insights for ongoing strategic initiatives in partnership with audit teams.
  • Apply advanced data algorithms and modeling techniques to derive insights for improvement initiatives.
  • Prototype and simulate use cases for advanced analytics and continuous auditing solutions.
  • Support managers and team members with subject matter expertise and process knowledge.
  • Present key insights to auditors and management using advanced visualization tools.
  • Assist in implementing the automation roadmap for audit, improving efficiency through data analytic tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Science, or related field.
  • 8 years of experience with analytic coding techniques, visualization tools, and creating reporting dashboards.
  • 4 years of experience in SAS, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, RPA, or other data analysis tools.
  • 4 years of experience working on data and analytics in an Audit or Controls functional area.
  • 3 years of experience building visualization analytics and storytelling in an Audit or Control function.
  • Proficient in Databases - Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Data Loads.
  • Experience as a liaison between business analysts and auditors.
  • Strong analytical thinker with attention to detail and proactive issue identification.
  • Familiarity with audit or Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) software such as Archer.
  • Working knowledge of statistical/data mining analysis tools and programming languages in Big Data environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience guiding and coaching team members in cross-matrix teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for delivering actionable feedback.
