About the position

The Internal Audit group at JPMorgan Chase is an independent function responsible for assessing the adequacy of control environments across the firm's lines of business. This position is for an experienced audit professional focused on Consumer Compliance regulatory engagement and audit coverage, ensuring comprehensive responses to regulatory requests and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders while upholding independence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage regulatory engagements and deliverables impacting CCB Audit, including drafting responses and coordinating reviews with applicable Audit Leadership Team members.
  • Proactively work with audit teams to drive appropriate scoping decisions and assessment of emerging control issues for Consumer Compliance-related audit coverage.
  • Lead and participate on audit engagements, from planning to reporting, ensuring audits are completed timely and within budget.
  • Work closely with global Audit colleagues to identify emerging control issues and report them to Audit management and business stakeholders.
  • Protect the confidentiality and security of information in accordance with firm policy.
  • Partner with stakeholders, business management, and other control groups to establish strong working relationships while maintaining independence.
  • Finalize audit findings and provide an overall opinion on the control environment with recommendations to strengthen internal controls.
  • Communicate audit findings to management and identify opportunities for improvement in key controls.
  • Implement and execute an effective program of continuous auditing for assigned areas, monitoring key metrics to identify control issues.
  • Manage teams where required, performing timely reviews of work and providing constructive feedback.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving industry/regulatory changes and participate in control forums.
  • Champion a culture of innovation and drive efficiency through automation and new technologies.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of internal or external auditing experience, or relevant business experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant financial services experience required.
  • Experience with internal audit methodology and applying concepts in audit delivery and execution.
  • Flexible to changing business priorities and ability to multitask in a constantly changing environment.
  • Solid understanding of internal control concepts and ability to evaluate controls considering business and technology risks.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; adept at presenting complex issues to senior management.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to establish credibility and build partnerships with senior business and control partners.
  • Strong analytical skills in assessing the probability and impact of internal control weaknesses.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated, effective under pressure, and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certification (e.g. CRCM) or willingness to pursue professional certifications.
  • Understanding of key regulations and current regulatory developments relevant to consumer protection and banking products and services.
