About the position

The Audit Manager for Consumer Compliance is responsible for overseeing audit areas, acting as the Auditor-in-Charge (AIC), and executing audit strategies across various Lines of Business (LOBs). The role focuses on ensuring compliance with U.S. consumer financial laws and regulations, identifying control gaps, and enhancing the control environment. This position also involves mentoring team members and maintaining professional relationships with business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute risk-based audit strategies, including audit scopes and test procedures, to ensure compliance with consumer financial laws and regulations.
  • Serve as Auditor-in-Charge (AIC), overseeing audit activities, adhering to audit policies, and drafting audit reports.
  • Assess business impacts and provide recommendations on issue severity, utilizing automation and innovation to improve audit quality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, providing subject matter expertise on U.S. consumer financial laws and regulations.
  • Mentor and guide audit team members, promoting an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
  • Evaluate consumer compliance risks, identify control gaps, and deliver feedback to management on process improvements.
  • Contribute to executive reporting, regulatory engagements, and audit process optimization through innovative tools.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of direct experience with U.S. consumer financial laws and regulations, including Reg CC, Reg B, FCRA, SCRA, Reg E, UDAAP, CRA.
  • At least 3 years in a lead auditor or Auditor-in-Charge (AIC) role or equivalent experience.
  • Strong risk assessment skills to evaluate business processes, controls, and risks.
  • Exceptional communication abilities to influence and advise management while escalating key themes or trends.
  • Proven experience in leading audit projects, mentoring team members, and ensuring timely audit execution.
  • Analytical skills and intellectual curiosity to assess and challenge the control environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certifications such as CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager), CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), or CPA.
  • Experience with automation, machine learning, or artificial intelligence in audit processes.
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
