About the position

The Audit Manager at Banks, Finley, White & Co. is responsible for overseeing audit engagements, ensuring compliance with professional standards, and maintaining productive relationships with clients. This role requires strong leadership and project management skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced public accounting environment. The ideal candidate will have a CPA designation and a minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing, with a focus on developing team members and generating new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management throughout the year.
  • Understand the client's industry and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments.
  • Participate in performing audit procedures, especially focusing on complex and/or specialized issues.
  • Collaborate to plan engagement objectives and an audit strategy that complies with professional standards and appropriately addresses risk.
  • Develop people by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team.
  • Delegate work successfully and conduct timely performance reviews, providing performance feedback/training.
  • Lead by example and use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.
  • Maintain an educational program to continually develop skills and monitor the engagement team's progress against the plan.
  • Generate new business opportunities and understand BFW and its service lines, actively assessing/presenting ways to apply knowledge and services.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA designation is required
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience working as an auditor for a public accounting firm
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • A dedication to teamwork and leadership
  • Integrity within a professional environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Post-graduate diploma or degree in Accounting preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
