About the position

The Auditing Services Manager plays a critical role in devising and modifying procedures to address complex problems within the auditing domain. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, as the manager will provide guidance and experience on the implementation of solutions while engaging various resources. The manager will perform thorough analyses of client issues, interpret the implications of design, and ensure that the solutions align with business needs. A key responsibility is to provide structure to project working groups, analyze current issues and conflicts, and recommend proper techniques and tools for team improvement. In this role, the Auditing Services Manager will lead and manage team meetings, facilitating a clear understanding of the specific engagements that the project working group is supporting. The manager may serve as a project team leader over assigned support areas, occasionally filling the position of project team lead, instructing, directing, and monitoring the work of other project staff. This role also involves conducting analyses of work plan completeness, preparing status reports, and supporting quality control practices. The manager will communicate client expectations to the project team and escalate relevant issues to senior-level project staff, ensuring that the project remains focused and productive. Additionally, the Auditing Services Manager may serve as a Subject Matter Resource (SMR), providing specific technical expertise required for task order delivery. Specialized experience in various auditing areas, including financial, performance, recovery, transportation, and contract audits, is essential. The manager will also be responsible for maintaining strong, productive working relationships with audit client personnel, assessing client satisfaction, and proactively maintaining contact throughout the year. This position requires a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts, which must be applied to client situations effectively. The Auditing Services Manager will also be responsible for developing team members through effective delegation of audit tasks, providing guidance, performance feedback, training, and conducting performance reviews for assurance staff. The manager will contribute ideas and opinions to the assurance teams while fostering an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment. Technology will be utilized to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Holds a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Possesses CPA certification.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in auditing or related fields.
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts.
  • Experience in audits (financial, performance, recovery, transportation, and contract audits).
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and non-GAGAS.
  • Experience in compliance assessments and organizational performance improvement.

Nice-to-haves
