About the position

The Audit Manager for Data Governance will lead audit engagements focused on enterprise data and records management governance for a large banking client. This role is crucial in assessing the impact of data governance on business processes and providing insights on governance trends. The position requires strong leadership skills to oversee junior auditors and establish relationships with stakeholders to enhance audit outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements focusing on enterprise data and records management governance.
• Act as Auditor-in-Charge, oversee junior auditors, and assess the impact of data governance on business processes.
• Aggregate data management ratings across divisions and provide insights on governance trends.
• Plan and perform audit procedures, draft reports, and communicate findings to business leaders.
• Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance audit outcomes.

Requirements

• College degree or relevant experience, with 5+ years in audit or risk/control management and 3+ years in data management/governance.
• Proficiency in data governance, risk assessment, and enterprise data management.
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of BCBS requirements.
• Analytical and automation skills (SQL, Alteryx, Excel).
• Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• General IT background with capability to execute IT audit testing, including ITGCs.
