About the position

The Audit Manager at Wells Fargo is an Individual Contributor role with no direct reports. The officer title associated with this role is Executive Director given the complexity of engagements. This role is acting as the Auditor-in-charge, overseeing the work of a team of Audit staff. Wells Fargo is seeking an Audit Manager, Executive Director on the Market and Counterparty Risk Audit Team which focuses on market and counterparty risk independent risk management activities such as governance, limit framework and monitoring, management reporting, business as usual stress testing and scenario analysis, and regulatory requirements/exceptions. The Audit team provides credible challenge to business partners regarding the effectiveness of the control environment, business trends, issues, and operating and regulatory environment changes related to both market and counterparty risk.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of audit staff to resolve highly complex and unique challenges requiring in depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long term.
  • Manage defined audits within one or more segments of the Audit Plan.
  • Ensure audit engagements are risk based, and executed according to Wells Fargo Audit Services policies and guidance.
  • Assist in planning and organizing work in an annual cycle and project cycle.
  • Supervise and oversee assigned audits.
  • Provide timely feedback, coaching and monitoring of audit work and staff.
  • Develop and maintain solid business relationships within Wells Fargo Audit Services and with teams across Wells Fargo, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Audit, Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Market and Counterparty Risk Management and/or risk management in one or more of the following: commodity, counterparty, credit spread, equity, FX, and/or rate risks.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of audit or risk methodologies and supporting tools.
  • Experience at a financial institution or accounting firm.
  • A BS/BA degree or higher.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulatory environment.
  • Certification in one or more of the following: CPA, CAMS, CRCM, CIA, CISA or Commissioned Bank Examiner designation.
  • Experience leading and providing feedback to staff on audit projects or engagements.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
