About the position
The Audit Manager at Wipfli LLP specializes in providing exceptional audit services to clients in the financial institutions industry, including community banks and credit unions. This hybrid role focuses on external audits, requiring experienced CPAs with a strong public accounting background. The position emphasizes flexibility, relationship-building, and individual career paths within a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage audit, review, and compilation engagements, overseeing multiple teams and providing performance feedback upon engagement completion.
- Partner with Senior Managers, Directors, and Partners in risk assessment, audit procedures, and reporting.
- Oversee daily operations of the audit engagement, including staffing, planning, budgeting, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and conclusion.
- Research and communicate guidance on complex accounting matters and transactions.
- Assist clients with GAAP compliance and the adoption of FASB Accounting Standard Updates, addressing client concerns and resolving problems proactively.
- Serve as an instructor in firm and department training programs and meetings.
- Participate in and provide leadership in community, networking, and business development activities.
Requirements
- CPA License Required
- 5 years of experience, preferably in public accounting
- Ability to travel to client sites
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
