About the position
The Audit Manager position at Wipfli LLP focuses on providing exceptional audit services to clients in the financial institutions industry, including community banks and credit unions. This role is dedicated to managing audit engagements, overseeing teams, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and FASB standards. The position is hybrid, allowing for flexibility in work location within 60 miles of designated offices in Illinois.
Responsibilities
- Manage audit, review, and compilation engagements, providing performance feedback to team members after engagements.
- Partner with Senior Managers, Directors, and Partners in risk assessment, audit procedures, and reporting.
- Oversee daily operations of the audit engagement, including staffing, planning, budgeting, risk assessment, fieldwork, and financial reporting.
- Research and communicate guidance on complex accounting matters and transactions.
- Assist clients with GAAP compliance and the adoption of FASB Accounting Standard Updates, addressing client concerns and resolving problems promptly.
- Serve as an instructor in firm and department training programs and meetings.
- Participate in and provide leadership in community, networking, and business development activities.
Requirements
- CPA License Required
- 5 years of experience, preferably in public accounting
- Ability to travel to client sites
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
