About the position

The Audit Manager for US Finance and Corporate Treasury at RBC Capital Markets is responsible for providing independent and objective evaluations of the adequacy and effectiveness of the U.S. Finance and Corporate Treasury functions, including Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB), Liquidity, and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP). This role supports the Director for U.S. Finance and Corporate Treasury in effective audit planning, testing, reporting, issue remediation, and other support functions. The position requires a strong focus on regulatory reporting and involves leading a team of professional auditors to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal controls. In this role, the Audit Manager will be expected to maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring they derive maximum value from engagement work. This includes conducting periodic meetings with business units to provide updates on audit results and the status of open audit issues. The Audit Manager will also coordinate and escalate regional issues to senior management in accordance with the Internal Audit (IA) escalation model, while keeping abreast of organizational, regulatory, product, strategic, and financial changes or trends. The Audit Manager will collaborate with the Director for CUSO Regulatory Reporting to develop and manage the US RBC audit plan for regulatory reporting and other support functions, based on risk assessments and continuous monitoring activities. This includes participating in complex and confidential audit projects as requested by senior management and ensuring that appropriate working paper evidence of findings is maintained. The role also involves assisting with the validation of regulatory matters issued by relevant regulatory bodies, including the Federal Reserve, and presenting regulatory validation approaches and results to IA Senior Management. Additionally, the Audit Manager will work towards enhancing the capabilities of team members in data analytics and technology, ensuring that the team is equipped with the right data, capabilities, and tools for effective data analysis. This position requires a proactive approach to relationship building and client experience, with a focus on recommending and implementing innovative solutions to improve processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent and objective evaluation of U.S. Finance and Corporate Treasury functions.
  • Support the Director for U.S. Finance and Corporate Treasury with audit planning, testing, reporting, and issue remediation.
  • Lead a team of professional auditors focusing on Regulatory Reporting in the U.S.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders to maximize engagement value.
  • Conduct periodic meetings with business units to update on audit results and open issues.
  • Coordinate and escalate regional issues to senior management as per the IA escalation model.
  • Develop and manage the US RBC audit plan for regulatory reporting based on risk assessment.
  • Participate in complex and confidential audit projects as requested by senior management.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of audit work and findings is maintained.
  • Assist with the validation of regulatory matters issued by relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Present regulatory validation approaches and results to IA Senior Management.
  • Enhance team capabilities in data analytics and technology.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field.
  • Solid knowledge of US rules and regulations on Anti-Money Laundering (AML).
  • Regulatory/Compliance experience.
  • Experience leading integrated business audits with technology auditors.
  • ACAMS certification or studying towards ACAMS certification.
  • Experience in incorporating data analytics into traditional audit programs.
