About the position

Novogradac & Company LLP is seeking a Manager to oversee various tax, audit, and other assignments with minimal supervision. The role emphasizes mentoring staff, developing client relationships, and enhancing office profitability. The Manager will be responsible for client engagements, ensuring quality and efficiency, and promoting the firm's image through various professional activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assume primary responsibility for client engagements, including planning, staffing, timing, and technical issues.
  • Oversee completion of engagements, identifying and solving problem areas during the engagement with minimal oversight.
  • Conduct thorough engagement reviews.
  • Supervise and mentor Supervisors, Senior Accountants, and Staff, guiding them in technical areas and identifying professional development opportunities.
  • Complete annual performance evaluations for assigned staff and manage employee performance conversations.
  • Assist Principals and Partners in identifying and pursuing new clients.
  • Promote the Firm's image by participating in conferences, contributing to publications, and conducting trainings.
  • Develop and strengthen client relationships through professionalism and service-oriented approach.
  • Enhance skills in the industries the Firm focuses on by completing training courses.
  • Increase office profitability by managing time efficiently and contributing ideas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (advanced degree is a plus).
  • 5-8 years of experience in public accounting or a relevant combination of education and work experience.
  • CPA license required.
  • Expert understanding of accounting and tax rules.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong personal, technical, and professional judgment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize a fast-paced workload and manage concurrent priorities.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and report writing tools.
