About the position

The Auditor for Airport Operations Quality Control at United Airlines is responsible for conducting and managing operational audits at airports to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and quality operations. This role involves leading audit teams, preparing detailed reports, and collaborating with station leadership to implement corrective actions. The position requires a mix of office work and operational support, with significant travel to various domestic and international stations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and manage operational audits of airports to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and conduct audits of airport operations to United Airlines and federal government standards.
  • Lead teams of auditors during hub audits and conduct briefings with station leadership.
  • Prepare detailed written audit and executive summaries following audits.
  • Issue corrective actions to auditees based on audit findings.
  • Assist stations in performing root cause analysis and facilitate effective corrective actions.
  • Develop, revise, implement, and maintain audit checklists and programs for compliance and performance.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Support Center groups to address systemic audit findings.
  • Analyze audit and safety performance trends and report findings to stakeholders and the FAA.
  • Perform special assignments to support the Safety and Regulatory team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in airport/airline operations or management.
  • 2+ years of aviation experience.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Safety Management System (SMS) experience.
  • Previous supervision or audit experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and ETQ.
  • Safety and Regulatory experience.
  • Safety Audit training and/or certification (e.g., IOSA).
  • OSHA 10/30 Hour training.
  • Quality Auditing experience.
