About the position

The Auditor II position at the University of Georgia is responsible for conducting complex audit engagements, reviewing audit reports, and consulting with university directors on accounting systems. This role requires advanced auditing skills and the ability to supervise others, contributing to the improvement of accounting systems and operational efficiency within the university's Internal Auditing Division.

Responsibilities

  • Performing complex audit engagements.
  • Reviewing engagements and editing audit reports prepared by audit staff members.
  • Consulting with University directors on the implementation of accounting systems and procedures in various departments.
  • Performing training sessions on operational and audit policies and procedures for University and audit staff.
  • Assisting the director in performing administrative duties.
  • Performing related work as required.

Requirements

  • At least a baccalaureate degree in the field.
  • Auditing experience with a public accounting firm or internal audit department.
  • Ability to apply advanced auditing skills in analyzing financial data and accounting procedures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate skills in using word processing and spreadsheet computer applications.
  • Ability to independently complete assignments.
