About the position

The Auditor III position at the Utah Office of Substance Use and Mental Health (OSUMH) is a full-time role focused on planning, coordinating, and leading audits of local authorities in Utah related to substance use and mental health services. The role requires a strong background in auditing, compliance with state and federal regulations, and familiarity with behavioral health practices. The Auditor III will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure effective auditing processes and compliance, while also providing training and support to team members.

Responsibilities

• Schedule audits and coordinate activities between participants and the audit team.
• Perform pre-audit activities, including risk assessment, client charts and data, and outside audit reviews.
• Conduct programmatic, administrative and financial reviews of contracted Local Authorities.
• Present non-compliance findings and make recommendations for improvements.
• Review and compare previous findings, ensuring findings have been corrected or penalties elevated until compliance is met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Social Work, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Experience in audit management and familiarity with evidence-based practices in behavioral health.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Comfortable with technology and applying new software tools to solve office problems.
• Knowledgeable in Google Drive, Google Groups, and Google Chat.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in behavioral health audits and the behavioral health system in Utah.
• Qualified mental health professional license such as LCSW, LMFT, CMHC, or LMAC.
