About the position

The Auditor III position involves conducting professional operational reviews, audits, and special investigations to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles. The role requires planning, scheduling, and executing audits, reviewing financial records, evaluating financial controls, and preparing detailed audit reports. This position is considered a specialist level, requiring advanced skills in auditing and accounting, and may involve leading audit teams on complex assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and conduct audits of businesses, agencies, schools, and corporations to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Conduct operational audits to evaluate policies, procedures, and management activities for compliance with financial accountability standards.
  • Review financial records and business documents to identify deficiencies and provide compliance advice.
  • Prepare audit reports and make recommendations for changes in policies or operating procedures.
  • Perform special investigations as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or public administration.
  • Two years of qualifying experience in professional auditing or accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices, auditing theories and techniques, and financial statements.
