Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of the internal audit function's conformance with Global Internal Audit Standards.
- Evaluate the adequacy of the internal audit mandate, charter, strategy, methodologies, processes, risk assessment, and internal audit plan.
- Assess compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Review performance criteria and measures, including assessment results.
- Evaluate competencies and due professional care in the internal audit function.
- Ensure integration of the internal audit function into the organization's governance processes.
- Contribute to the organization's governance, risk management, and control processes.
- Support the improvement of the organization's operations and ability to achieve its objectives.
- Meet expectations articulated by the board, senior management, and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Must be a Certified Internal Auditor.
- Experience with and knowledge of internal audit standards and leading practices.
- Attestation by assessment auditor that they have no conflicts of interest.
- Completion of external quality assessment training recognized by The Institute of Internal Auditors.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience as a chief audit executive or in a comparable senior level of internal audit management.
- Experience in the organization's industry or sector.
- Previous experience performing external quality assessments.
