About the position
The Perishables Representative at H-E-B is responsible for maintaining a well-stocked and organized department while delivering exceptional customer service. This part-time role involves preparing, packaging, and merchandising fresh products daily, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. The position emphasizes a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, with opportunities for ownership in the company after eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Provide superior customer service to customers in person and over the phone.
- Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products daily.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of display cases and equipment.
- Assist in technical areas as needed for food service.
- Effectively merchandise products and utilize suggestive selling techniques to boost sales.
- Make regular announcements related to freshly-produced items to increase sales.
- Communicate product knowledge to customers and provide samples.
- Assist in various departments as needed, including Aguas, Floral, Market, Produce, and Seafood.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Completion of Company Orientation and Safety Training.
- Knowledge of computer systems such as Telxon and ACR.
