Authorized Budtender

About the position

The Authorized Budtender at Nirvana Cannabis Company is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a recreational marijuana retail environment. This role involves recommending cannabis products, maintaining knowledge of industry regulations, and ensuring a clean and organized shop. Budtenders will also engage in inventory control and assist with training new staff, contributing to a professional and community-oriented shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service
• Uphold professional and courteous interactions with customers, co-workers, and visitors
• Communicate actively with leads/supervisors/managers via telephone, email, and GroupMe
• Recommend and sell marijuana and related products
• Self-educate and retain knowledge on products
• Maintain knowledge of state and federal cannabis laws
• Perform general boutique retail functions, including using POS systems
• Check IDs accurately per WSLCB standards
• Engage in inventory control functions, such as organizing and restocking
• Problem solve and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Maintain shop cleanliness and presentability
• Delegate budtender tasks and oversee their completion
• Review and authorize customer discounts
• Assist with till preparations and order intakes
• Document activities in Outlook Managers' Notes

Requirements

• Must be 21+ years old and have a valid ID
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Excellent customer service skills
• Positive and energetic attitude in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer use experience
• Goal-oriented and career-minded
• Punctual and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Cannabis industry experience preferred but not required
