About the position

The Autism Aide position at CTA Community Supports is a part-time role focused on providing support to special needs adult clients in residential homes. The role involves engaging clients in fun activities and assisting them with daily living tasks, promoting their personal goals and well-being. Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily activities including chores, cooking, personal hygiene, and medication management.
• Engage clients in recreational activities such as playing at the park, going to movies, and enjoying music.
• Support clients in achieving their personal goals while ensuring a fun and active environment.
• Maintain a positive and outgoing attitude while working with clients.
• Complete all required training on-site and participate in ongoing development.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Reliable transportation to commute to work locations.
• Basic computer skills including Slack and note-taking.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds from the floor.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude.
• Desire to help individuals with Autism and special needs.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in teaching or special education.
• Background in social work, psychology, or mental health services.
• Previous experience as a caregiver, CNA, or in a non-profit setting.
