About the position

The Automation and Security Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the City of Santa Fe's water system. This position involves evaluating, coordinating, troubleshooting, and overseeing the performance of various hardware and software applications that are integral to the water system's functionality. The administrator will be responsible for managing the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, which is essential for monitoring and controlling the water treatment facilities, wells, booster stations, and storage facilities. In addition to the SCADA system, the role encompasses the administration and maintenance of database applications, site security systems, telemetry, and radio communications systems. The administrator will also oversee business computer hardware and software, ensuring that all components of the network are functioning optimally. This position requires a strong understanding of both automation technologies and security protocols to protect the integrity of the water system and its data. The Automation and Security Administrator will work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that all systems are integrated and functioning as intended.
