About the position

The Auto Body General Manager in Training is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the shop departments to achieve financial goals while maintaining quality standards. This role involves managing revenue and cost elements of the body shop, developing strategies for improvement, and ensuring compliance with internal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes shop's objectives by establishing plans and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections.
  • Reviews financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
  • Works on developing strategies to improve overall quality and productivity.
  • Assists in making business decisions relating to system implementation, modification, maintenance, etc.
  • Works along with the operation manager to develop and maintain business process documentation for reference in preparing test cases, training documents, etc.
  • Presents analyses, solutions, and business cases to senior management.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams to develop business process requirements.
  • Performs audits on files to ensure compliance with internal requirements before vehicle delivery.
  • Updates daily production schedule and progress in every order.
  • Ensures that guidelines concerning repair procedures and safety policies are followed by personnel.
  • Verifies daily technicians' productivity reports.
  • Verifies that all information is entered and updated in CCC and Nexsyis.
  • Motivates personnel and provides direction and guidance to employees in their assigned job duties.
  • Participates in personnel recruitment and selection process, training, performance evaluation, promotion, and termination activities.
  • Performs weekly commission payroll.
  • Implements departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with management members and operational staff as necessary.
  • Encourages teamwork in an environment focused on customer service and process orientation.
  • Conducts management meetings to review monthly KPIs, discuss business updates, issues, and recommendations.
  • Responds to employee concerns in a timely manner.
  • Builds company image by enforcing ethical business practices and promoting ethical values.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards and key performance indicators.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in management within an auto body shop or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and performance metrics.
  • Ability to develop and implement business strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using CCC and Nexsyis software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of repair procedures and safety policies.
  • Familiarity with performance management and KPI development.
