About the position
The Auto Body Technician at Quality Auto Body is responsible for repairing damaged vehicle body parts according to company specifications and standards. This role involves using advanced training and state-of-the-art equipment to restore vehicles to their original condition, ensuring high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a sign-on bonus and opportunities for training and certification.
Responsibilities
- Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to established standards.
- Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
- Restores bodywork to its original condition by removing damaged parts and installing replacements.
- Communicates with management regarding additional repairs needed on vehicles.
- Notifies management of any difficulties that may affect job quality or completion time.
- Maintains tools and equipment in good working order.
- Operates all tools and equipment safely.
- Ensures work area is organized, clean, and free of safety hazards.
- Maintains and wears required personal protective equipment.
- Cooperates with other personnel in vehicle repair and prepping.
- Complies with federal, state, and local regulations affecting body shop operations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in collision repair.
- Solid working knowledge of processes, techniques, and materials used in automotive repair.
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle structure for component removal and replacement.
- Demonstrated safety precautions in performing work.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally over 70 pounds.
- Demonstrated agility and coordination in various physical tasks.
- Strong dexterity in hands and fingers.
