About the position

The Auto Body Technician at Autologists is responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles to their original factory specifications. This role involves examining vehicle damages, performing repairs using various tools and techniques, and ensuring high-quality workmanship. The technician will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with other team members to deliver excellent service and maintain a safe and organized workspace.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly examine the vehicle damages.
• Return the vehicle back to factory specifications.
• Remove vehicle trim to gain access to vehicle body.
• Fill depressions with body filler to ensure quality repair.
• Remove damaged parts using air/power tools and cutting torch.
• Bolt or weld replacement parts in position using power/air tools and welding equipment.
• Straighten bent automobile frames using frame rack.
• File, grind and sand repaired surfaces using air/power tools and hand tools.
• Aim headlights and replace bolts on panels, aligning them properly.
• Make cosmetic repairs and perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Use special equipment to restore damaged metal frames and body sections back to original specifications.
• Remove damaged body parts, including bumpers, fenders, hoods, grilles, and trim.
• Hammer out or patch dents, dimples, and other minor body damage.
• Install and weatherproof windows and windshields.
• Pre-wash all vehicles to remove dirt and debris prior to written estimates or painting.
• Detail all repaired vehicles before they leave the repair facility.
• Maintain tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of auto-body experience (Required)
• Knowledge of all modern vehicle repairs and procedures
• ASE B certification
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment
• Tools/Boxes sufficient to provide quality repairs
• Safe and Quality Work Ethic
