About The Position

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Auto Body Technician to join our team. As one of the largest collision repair companies in North America, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality repairs. The Auto Body Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that each vehicle is restored to its pre-accident condition, providing a meticulous assessment and quality repair process. This position requires a commitment to our company's core values, including speed, quality, and customer excellence. The technician will work closely with other team members to achieve the repair facility's key performance indicators (KPIs) and will act as a Brand Ambassador for The Boyd Group at all times. In this role, the Auto Body Technician will be responsible for planning the necessary repair work and preparing cost estimates for customers. The technician will utilize various tools, including cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers, to repair sections of vehicles. Responsibilities include hammering out dents, mixing and applying filler resins, realigning car chassis and frames, removing damaged sections, replacing parts, and repainting vehicles with factory-specified paint. The technician will also inspect vehicles post-repair to ensure all work has been executed correctly and will perform other related duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with successful completion of a technical school program or a three-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer. The ability to read job orders, work independently, and collaborate with other repairers is essential. A thorough understanding of repair methods and procedures, as well as the ability to safely work in a noisy environment with various odors, is required. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform repairs in various weather conditions.
