About the position

The Auto Body Technician at Crash Champions is responsible for examining damaged vehicles and efficiently planning the repair process. This role involves performing quality repairs while maintaining on-time status and making decisions on whether to repair or replace parts based on safety, cost, and cycle time. The technician will work collaboratively with others and may direct the work of apprentices when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Examine damaged vehicles and plan the repair process efficiently.
• Communicate with team members regarding vehicle repair status.
• Perform quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind.
• Make decisions on repair vs. replace considering safety, cost, and cycle time.
• Remove upholstery, accessories, and trim to access vehicle components.
• Participate in all required safety meetings.
• File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power and hand tools.
• Direct the work of apprentices when needed and explain procedures.

Requirements

• I-CAR Certification
• Welding Certification
• Ability to use frame machine
• Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data
• Ability to supervise repair personnel
• Must be able to pass a thorough background check
