About the position

The AutoCAD Drafter/Designer position at U.S. Metal Works, Inc. involves generating detailed drawings for shop fabricated steel and structural steel products. The role requires collaboration with the Engineering Manager and Shop Foreman to ensure accurate and efficient design processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Generate detailed drawings and specifications for shop fabricated steel and structural steel products.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Shop Foreman to ensure design accuracy.
• Produce accurate, detailed, and scale drawings for shop fabrication.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

• Proficiency with AutoCAD LT and Microsoft Office.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with SolidWorks preferred.
• Excellent organization, communication, and math skills.
• Ability to produce accurate and detailed drawings for fabrication.
• Familiarity with steel fabrication processes and industrial applications.

Nice-to-haves

• Steel fabrication and/or steel design experience.
• Knowledge of steel materials and shapes.
