About the position

The AutoCAD Drafter/Designer position involves creating detailed drawings and designs for various projects, primarily focusing on misc. metals such as gates, railings, and handrails. The role requires collaboration with customers to establish design specifications, as well as onsite coordination for installations when necessary. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD and be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a high level of detail.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed drawings for permit submittal.
• Work with customers to establish design specifications.
• Identify onsite conflicts with dimensions.
• Produce drawings for fabrication shop.
• Estimate and provide change orders.
• Coordinate onsite installation if required.
• Discuss and order hardware and materials with vendors.
• Maintain an organized file management system on the computer.
• Add to product library and manage documentation.
• Work with vendors for waterjet and laser cutting.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of AutoCAD experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
• Experience with misc. metals such as gates, railings, and handrails.
• Ability to take site dimensions accurately.
• Knowledge of hardware, materials, and fabrication procedures.
• Knowledge of installation procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office, and Word.
• Strong organizational skills and file management capabilities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and conflict resolution abilities.
