About the position

The AutoCAD Drafter position at Parsons involves preparing detailed drawings for various construction projects as part of the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) awarded by the FAA. The role requires proficiency in CAD techniques and the ability to work independently while adhering to client standards. The position is based in Anchorage, AK, and supports a wide range of activities related to aviation safety and national security programs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare various drawings for construction projects, including views, sectional profiles, and intricate details.
• Incorporate engineer's markups into drawings.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Interpret and incorporate client's CAD standards into drawings.
• Check the validity of drawing contents before adding to inventory.
• Ensure proper filing of drawings and provide copies upon request.
• Reformat drawings for electronic archiving and maintain a clean work environment.
• Scan hard copies to PDF and upload files into ProjectWise software.
• Maintain files in the WSA regional databases as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years of Computer Aided Drafting experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD is required.
• Knowledge of ProjectWise is preferred.
• Good oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Must have lived in Alaska to understand diverse terrain.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
