About the position

Champion Modular, Inc. is seeking an AutoCAD Drafter to join our team in Liverpool, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for creating model drawings and detailed construction drawings for homes, utilizing your discretion and judgment to perform calculations and analyses that support your designs. You will work closely with sales and customers to create designs from rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data. Your expertise in AutoCAD will be essential as you draft detailed construction drawings that include walls, roofs, floors, plumbing, electrical systems, and more. You will also be required to submit drawings to third-party agencies for approval and ensure compliance with commercial and residential building codes in the US. As an AutoCAD Drafter, you will collaborate with Production and Quality Control staff to resolve design details or problems, and you will be responsible for laying out, redesigning, and modifying home arrangements and interconnections of components and systems. Your knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences will be crucial in completing your drawings accurately. You will generate calculations for the analysis of selected designs using approved software, ensuring that all drawings are clear and complete with necessary dimensions and material specifications. Responsibilities

  • Creates designs from rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from Sales and customers.
  • Drafts detailed construction drawings and installations such as walls, roofs, floors, plumbing, water, electrical, cabinets, gas lines, duct prints, foundations elevations, etc.
  • Uses computer assisted design (CAD) equipment and software to create detail drawings.
  • Drafts limited approvals and submits to sales and third-party agencies.
  • Confers with Production and Quality Control staff to resolve design details or problems.
  • Lays out, redesigns, and modifies home arrangement, and interconnections components and systems.
  • Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
  • Shows dimensions, material to be used, and other information necessary to make detailed drawing clear and complete.
  • Generates calculations for analysis of selected designs using approved software.
  • Submits drawings to third party agencies for approval.

Requirements

  • Associates degree from a two-year college or technical school which includes advance training in AutoCAD or two to five years' work experience using the AutoCAD software; or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • AutoCAD software experience using 2015 or higher.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Quick learner.
