About the position

Panda Windows & Doors, a custom window and door manufacturer, is seeking a full-time AutoCAD Drafter to join our Engineering Department. The successful candidate will assist in drawing our custom products according to our clients' specifications. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively communicate and collaborate with various departments, including engineering, purchasing, sales, and manufacturing teams. The AutoCAD Drafter will be responsible for creating detailed drawings, including approval, shop, and installation drawings, while consulting with fabrication teams during product manufacturing. The position demands strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a solid understanding of engineering concepts and principles. The ideal candidate will be organized, able to handle multiple ongoing projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed drawings as per our clients' specifications.
  • Create detailed approval, shop, and installation drawings.
  • Consult with fabrication teams during product manufacturing, advising them on design specifications and providing physical assistance when required.
  • Communicate and accurately modify technical drawings based on customer requests.
  • Coordinate with the team to understand project requirements, verify design details, and recommend modifications as needed according to company, site standards, and best practices.
  • Work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience using AutoCAD 2011 (or newer).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (able to manipulate formulas).
  • Able to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with various departments such as engineering, purchasing, sales, and manufacturing team.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Able to effectively communicate with architects and clients.
  • Detail-oriented, organized with the ability to handle multiple ongoing projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Revit: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Associate degree (Preferred)
