About the position

The AutoCAD Drafter position in San Ramon, CA, is a contract role focused on the preparation and management of electrical design drawings for high voltage systems. The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering and proficiency in AutoCAD, with responsibilities including the creation of various electrical layout diagrams and ensuring the accuracy of designs through interdisciplinary checks.

Responsibilities

• Experience in High voltage up to 220KV.
• Preparation of Single Line Diagram.
• Preparation of Electrical Equipment Plan & Section Layout.
• Preparation of Earthling & Lightning Protection Layout.
• Preparation of Erection Key Diagram.
• Preparation of Power Cable Tray Route Layouts.
• Preparation of Lighting and Power Layout.
• Preparation of General Arrangement Layout.
• Responsible for the preparation of Electrical Execution Drawings for grounding layout.
• Cable Trench Layout, Area Cable Trench & Tray Routing Layout.
• Checking of Electrical drawings prepared by Electrical Draught Person.
• Managing of IDC (Inter Discipline Check-Print).
• Solving the obstructions & interferences with other Discipline to prepare error free design deliverable packages.
• Site visits during Construction, for Survey & As-Built.
• Checking of Electrical drawings prepared by Electrical Designer / Draught Person.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 4+ years of experience engineering/designing electrical systems within the Utilities or Energy industry.
• Skilled in AutoCAD (MicroStation is a plus).
• Experience with ETAP, WinIGS, IEEE 88/998.
• Experience using Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Bentley MicroStation and/or Bentley Substation software to develop 2D drawings or 3D models.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional Engineer (PE) License is a plus.
• 1 year of experience with Revit (Preferred).

Benefits

• Contract position with hourly pay ranging from $39.18 to $41.76.
• Expected hours: 40 per week.
