About the position

The Automotive Claims Specialist II facilitates the resolution of customer claims and concerns related to vehicle sales, ensuring timely arbitration between buyers and sellers in accordance with auction and NAAA policies. This role involves managing sale day activities, conducting post-sale inspections, and assisting in training new arbitrators while handling complex cases and guiding less experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer claims to verify compliance with Manheim's National Arbitration policies and account-specific guidelines.
  • Investigate increasingly complex cases requiring less prescriptive decision-making.
  • Interface with various departments during the fact-finding and investigative phases of claims.
  • Utilize resources to facilitate inspections, documentation, and communication for case resolution.
  • Evaluate claims by obtaining and validating various forms of information.
  • Prepare and facilitate communications for resolution via telephone, email, and in-person discussions.
  • Mediate disputes and negotiate repairs/pricing of disputed vehicles to reach mutually acceptable solutions.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate files for each arbitration case, ensuring documentation accuracy.
  • Engage with supervisors to determine if escalation of cases is necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience in claims management, investigation, or conflict resolution.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Mechanical knowledge and understanding of auto body repair.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of automotive, mechanical, and/or body shop experience.
