About the position

The Automotive Claims Specialist II facilitates the resolution of customer claims and concerns related to vehicle sales, ensuring timely arbitration between buyers and sellers in accordance with auction and NAAA policies. This role involves managing sale day activities, conducting post-sale inspections, and training new arbitrators while handling complex cases with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer claims to verify compliance with Manheim's National Arbitration policies.
  • Investigate complex cases requiring less prescriptive decision-making.
  • Interface with various departments during the fact-finding and investigative phases.
  • Utilize resources to facilitate inspections, documentation, and communication for case resolution.
  • Evaluate claims by obtaining and validating various forms of information.
  • Prepare and facilitate communications for resolution via multiple channels.
  • Mediate disputes and negotiate repairs or pricing of disputed vehicles.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate files for each arbitration case.
  • Engage with supervisors to determine if escalation is required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience in claims management, investigation, or conflict resolution.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of automotive, mechanical, and/or body shop experience.
