About the position

As an Auto Damage Trainee at GEICO, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service during challenging times, such as accidents or major disasters. The Auto Damage team is dedicated to ensuring that our customers receive the best possible support when they need it most. You will undergo industry-leading, paid training that will equip you with the necessary skills to become proficient in automobile damage adjusting. This training will cover the essential aspects of inspecting and assessing vehicle damage, estimating repair costs, and negotiating settlements with various stakeholders, including body shops and rental partners. Flexibility is a key component of this role, as you may be required to work from different locations, including your home, a body shop, a virtual estimating center, or even on the road. Responsibilities

  • Inspect and assess vehicle damage caused by all types of accidents.
  • Estimate vehicle repair costs and negotiate equitable settlements.
  • Partner with other adjusters and supervisors to work with body shops, rental partners, and parts providers.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for at least the past 3 consecutive years.
  • Ability to maintain applicable state and federal certifications and permits.
  • Willingness to be flexible with primary work location, including remote or in-office work.
  • Solid computer skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective attention to detail and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a willingness to improve these abilities.
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; college degree or currently pursuing preferred.
