The General Service Technician position is a full-time role based in Jonesboro, GA, within the Service Shop functional group. This position requires a mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic automotive services, which include but are not limited to mounting and balancing tires, conducting tire repairs, performing oil changes, and executing vehicle inspections. The technician is also responsible for maintaining clean and safe work areas in the tire and service department. A key aspect of this role involves delivering an excellent customer experience, which may include providing advice to customers regarding necessary automotive services and repairs for their vehicles. In this role, the technician will learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive issues, including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling systems, and electrical components. Continuous learning is essential, as the technician will participate in formal training sessions to stay updated with rapidly changing automotive technology. Responsibilities also include changing engine oil and filters, performing tire maintenance, installing batteries, checking starting and charging systems, and replacing headlights and other small bulbs. The technician will also be tasked with repairing flat tires, installing wiper blades, stocking and unloading tires, and assisting fellow technicians in technical activities. Maintaining an organized and clean shop environment is crucial, as is adherence to all company policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules.
