Auto General Service Technician

About the position

The General Service Technician is responsible for performing basic automotive services while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. This role requires mechanical aptitude and the ability to execute tasks such as tire mounting, oil changes, and vehicle inspections. The technician must maintain a clean and safe work environment and may also provide advice on necessary automotive services to customers.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to diagnose and repair basic automotive issues including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, and electrical systems.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training sessions.
• Change engine oil and filter.
• Install and perform tire maintenance.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other small bulbs.
• Repair flat tires.
• Install wiper blades.
• Stock and unload tires.
• Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management informed of mechanical repair problems as they arise.
• Clean and maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules.

Requirements

• A valid driver's license is required.
• Passion for a career as a Technician in the automotive industry.
• Eager to learn and possess a competitive drive to succeed.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
