About the position

As an Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee at Safelite Group, you will embark on a rewarding career path that focuses on more than just auto glass. The training program lasts for three months and is fully paid, allowing you to earn while you learn. After completing the training and certification, your pay will be evaluated every six months to ensure you are rewarded for your performance. In this role, you will be part of a nationally recognized team of expert installers, where you will not only develop technical skills but also enhance your problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. The job requires you to work outdoors in various weather conditions, which adds an element of excitement and variety to your daily tasks. You will be responsible for safely operating a company vehicle and using company-issued tools throughout your workday. Responsibilities

  • Install and repair auto glass under the guidance of experienced technicians.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems as part of the installation process.
  • Provide additional services and products to enhance customer safety and satisfaction.
  • Participate in hands-on and classroom training to learn the Safelite way of installation and repair.
  • Study and pass testing to become a Safelite-certified Technician, demonstrating proficiency in installations and a positive attitude.
  • Safely operate a company vehicle and utilize company-issued tools throughout the workday.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license required.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to read and write is necessary.
  • Comfortable working outside in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility in scheduled days and start/end times to accommodate customer needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a mechanical or technical field is a plus.
  • Customer service experience is beneficial.
